According to media source, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced on Sunday that four “main culprits” behind the death of two students who were kidnapped have been arrested from Churachandpur district. The death of the two students – Phijam Hemjit (20) and Hijam Linthoingambi (17) – came to light after pictures of them surfaced on social media on September 25 purportedly before and after they were killed.
As per media reports, The Chief Minister said the state government would ensure that the culprits behind the killing will receive “maximum punishment, including capital punishment”.
When asked about the missing bodies of the two students, Biren Singh said, “The discovery of their bodies will happen after the accused have been interrogated.”
