According to media sources, 82 young artists were awarded with Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar New Delhi today. The awards were conferred for the years 2022 and 2023 in a special ceremony by Culture Ministry Secretary Arunish Chawla. The Yuva Puraskar honours young artists in the field of music, dance, drama, folk and tribal art forms. The awards carry purse money of twenty-five thousand rupees and are awarded to artists under the age of 40.
Expressing delight on this occasion, an awardee from Rajasthan named Yusuf Khan Mewati talked about his experience of being conferred with the award.
Another awardee named Padma Dolker shared her reaction to becoming the first young artist from Ladakh to be conferred with the award.
