According to the media sources, Today Forest fire breaks out in Shimla. Almost 1033 cases of forest fires have taken place so far in the state in the fire season which generally spans from 15 April to 30 June. After this incident Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Additional Principal Conservator of Forests PK Rana says, “In this fire season, nearly 1033 cases of fire have been reported and we have been able to control them well. At present, 25 forest fires are active in different parts of the state and our department is trying to control them. Fire season in the state spans from 15 April to 30 June… We had done control burning on 8000 hectares of land already… Before the fire season, we had done at least 900 public meetings with the people to create awareness… In many places, people are coming forward to help us. Joint forest management committees and groups of women are actively involved in controlling forest fires… Our Chief Secretary held a meeting with different departments of the state… Yesterday we had a meeting with NDMA, and they said that the monsoon is retreating westwards because of which Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are facing a dry spell…”
