According to Media Sources, Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a narcotic substance suspected to be heroin from a farming field in Gurdaspur on Saturday morning, BSF said in a press release. BSF Punjab Frontier said, “On July 6, 2024, based on information shared by the BSF intelligence wing about the presence of a suspected packet in the border area of Gurdaspur district, BSF troops promptly launched a search operation in the suspected area. During the search operation, at around 10:30 am, the troops successfully recovered one packet weighing 480 grams of suspected heroin in torn condition from a farming field of village Wazirpur Afgana in the Gurdaspur District. The narcotics were found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.”
As Per Media Sources, The BSF said that reliable information and swift action of the troops thwarted yet another illicit attempt of cross-border narco-smugglers to smuggle narcotics into Punjab.
