According to Media Sources, President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday condoled the loss of lives in landslides in Kerala’s Wayanad and wished a speedy recovery for those who sustained injured in the mishap. At least 24 people have been killed and 70 people are injured after massive landslides hit Wayanad early July 30 morning.
“Pained by the loss of lives in massive landslides in Wayanad, Kerala. My condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured and for the success of rescue operations,” Murmu said in a statement by Rashtrapati Bhavan.
As Per Media Sources, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also expressed anguish over the loss of lives due to landslides in Wayanad. “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to landslide in parts of Wayanad, Kerala. My heartfelt condolences to bereaved families and prayers for speedy recovery of the injured,” Vice-President of India said in a post on X. Union Minister George Kurien said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is monitoring the situation, adding that the state government and central government are working together.
