According to media reports, Government has provided more than 15 crore tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the country. It is also encouraging people to use solar energy to minimize the bill of electricity needed for water connection.
Replying to the supplementaries in Lok Sabha today, Minister of Jal Shakti, C R Patil informed the house that a survey for more than 8 thousand villages has been conducted in the country to assess the situation on clean water availability.
