According to media sources, New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi has said that the renewable energy capacity has reached to 203 Gigawatt. Replying to supplementaries during the question hour in Lok Sabha, Mr Joshi said, another 115 Gigawatt of renewable energy is under various stages of implementation. He said, in 2014 the renewable energy capacity was around 76 Gigawatt. The Minister said, several initiatives have been taken by the government to enhance the production of renewable energy.
Mr. Joshi informed that Green Hydrogen Mission and Offshore Wind Energy exploration programmes are new added dimension to the country’s Renewable Energy Policy.
