According to media sources, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that getting a bank loan for the poor and small business owners has become very easy today. She mentioned that this has been made possible due to the Jan Dhan Yojana. She made these remarks while addressing beneficiaries of various government schemes during a Credit Outreach Programme in Itanagar today.
She said, the Prime Minister has also ensured that people avail these schemes without any mortgage or lengthy documentation from the banks. The Union Finance Minister said, Credit Outreach Programme enables the government to review if welfare schemes are actually benefiting the common people. Ms. Sitharaman initiated the handing over of loan sanction letters to 160 beneficiaries under various government schemes.
