According to media source, In Mizoram, more than 5 lakh tree saplings have been planted across the State under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Speaking to Akashvani News, Divisional Forest Officer of Aizawl and Nodal Officer of the Campaign Vanlalnunpuii Hmar said that following the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Mizoram Government has taken massive efforts in tree plantation drive for the success of the Campaign. She said that the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign was launched in the State on June 5 this year on the occasion of World Environment Day.
