According to media sources, The Kashmir Valley will host the first-ever International Marathon in Srinagar today. The mega event will see the participation of 2000 athletes, including 59 from abroad. The athletes will run 42 kms full Marathon and 21 kms half Marathon.
Jammu and Kashmir Director of Tourism Raja Yaqoob Farooq said that the participants belong to 29 States and Union Territories and 13 countries. He said, this Marathon will send a message across the globe that Kashmir Valley is peaceful and fit to host international events.
