According to media sources, The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 245 drones illicitly coming from Pakistan in Punjab, smuggling narcotics and arms and ammunition, this year till date. This seizure is more than double compared to last year. However, the recovery of 254 kilograms of heroin is much less compared to last year’s total of over 440 kilograms. This decrease in the seizure of smuggled heroin from across the border has been attributed to the increased physical and technical vigilance by the BSF. The BSF has also neutralized 3 Pakistani intruders on the Punjab border, and 31 Pakistani nationals, including two smugglers, have been apprehended. The force has also apprehended 94 Indian smugglers from various border districts of Punjab with narcotics smuggled from the Pakistan side.
