According to media sources, President Droupadi Murmu has said that the development of women in India has gained significant importance and that the country’s progress is closely tied to their growth. Speaking to the students at the Rairangpur Mahila Mahavidyalaya in her home district of Mayurbhanj in Odisha this evening, President Murmu said that the self-confidence and determination among girls are driving them to reach greater heights. The President added that girls are more diligent and progressing rapidly. President Murmu also said that a family with an educated woman is considered an educated family, contributing to a more educated society and a developed nation. The President, who is on a five-day visit to her home state of Odisha since Tuesday, arrived at her native village, Uparbeda in Rairangpur, this morning for the first time after assuming the highest office of the country. The President is scheduled to inaugurate three railway lines — Bangiriposi to Gorumahisani, Badampahad to Keonjhar, and Budamora to Chakulia at Bangriposi tomorrow.
