New Delhi: Indian Oil Chairman Mr. S M Vaidya appreciates the efforts of IOCians who served their best in the most tragic crisis that happened in Assam. He felicitated the employees who braved the recent flood in Assam to keep the state energized even during the toughest hours.
While sharing his thought he said, Human response to challenges, calamities, and catastrophes has defined the contours of our history, civilisation and society. The distressing images of the floods wrecking havoc in Assam last month are still fresh in our memory. While the waters inundated villages and towns, IndianOil installations at Moinarbond, Ramnagar, Borkhala and others, were no exception.
However, our teams rose above every challenge and continued to fuel the relief work in the affected region, till the time they too had to be taken out of the rising waters. Thus during the bleakest hour we discover the real heroes who usually do not go around in a cape.
Moreover, he went to Assam this weekend to be with the inspiring team of IOCians from Silchar, who made superhuman efforts to keep the region energised during the floods. he said, It was a delight to meet and thank my courageous teams who efficiently run the storage terminal, depot, LPG bottling plant, among other installations. he also complimented the remarkable members of the extended IndianOil family, the transporters, the tank truck crew, the LPG delivery teams and many others, who played an equally pivotal role in tiding over the crisis with their “Never say die” spirit.
What did I tell my IOCians, who worked wonders to fuel the region amid the flood? I patted their backs for upholding IndianOil’s core value of Care and Trust by going beyond the call of duty. That, for me, is the essence of IndianOil. Also, as just another Indian citizen, I saluted the brave heroes. On a personal note, let me add that the humility and cheerfulness of my young Silchar colleagues bowled me over, he further added.
