According to media sources, The Central Bureau of Investigation CBI busted a Departmental Examination Paper Leak Scam under the East Central Railway at Mughal Sarai, Uttar Pradesh during an operation yesterday. Twenty Six Railway officials including a Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operations) were arrested in the case. Seventeen Departmental candidates, presently working as Loco Pilots, allegedly paid money for the question paper, were caught red-handed with the copies of the question papers, and all of them have been arrested. Searches were conducted at eight locations, which resulted in a recovery of 1.17 crore rupees in cash. These amounts were reportedly collected from the candidates for leaking the question papers.
Investigation conducted so far revealed that the accused Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operations) was given the responsibility for setting and preparing the question paper for the examination. He in his own handwriting had written the questions in English and allegedly gave it to one Loco Pilot who in turn translated it into Hindi and further gave it to an Office Superintendent (training). The said Office Superintendent (training) allegedly in turn gave it to the candidates through a few other Railway Employees.
East Central Railway had scheduled a Departmental Examination today for the posts of Chief Loco Inspectors.
