According to media sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Pakistan pleaded with India to stop the strikes, but India considered it only after they assured that they would stop their misadventure. Addressing the nation this evening, the Prime Minister said retaliatory action on Pakistan’s terrorist and military infrastructure for now have been paused. He cautioned that in the coming days, every step taken by Pakistan will be observed based on the approach and conduct it adopts.
Hitting out at Pakistan, Mr Modi said terror incidents anywhere can be traced back to Pakistan’s terror hubs like Bahawalpur and Muridke. He said, to eliminate terrorists, the government of India granted full authority to the Indian Armed Forces and today, every terrorist and terror organization understand the consequences of attempting to harm the dignity and pride of country’s daughters and sisters.
Mr Modi said Pakistan must destroy its terror infrastructure otherwise there is no way out for them. In his address, Prime Minister Modi clarified that if there are talks between India and Pakistan, it will only be on terrorism and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He said India’s stand has been clear that terror, trade and talks cannot be done together.
Mr Modi said that zero tolerance against terrorism is the guarantee of a better world. He also warned the Pakistani Army and Government of Pakistan that the way they continue to nurture terrorism, one day it will lead to Pakistan’s own destruction.
