According to media sources, Home Minister Amit Shah met the officers who played an instrumental role in recent anti-Naxal operations in New Delhi and congratulated them on their historic success. In a social media post, Mr. Shah today stated that the government is determined to free India from the scourge of Naxalism. Mr. Shah said he will soon visit Chhattisgarh and meet the soldiers who made these operations successful.
Our correspondent reports that security forces have been conducting anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. As part of these efforts, an operation was carried out by the Chhattisgarh Police in the interior areas of Abujhmad from the 18th to the 21st of May. On the 21st of May, an encounter in the forests of Boter village resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary and Polit Bureau member Basavaraju alias Gaganna, along with the recovery of a large quantity of arms and ammunition.
