According to media sources, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi today said that National Test House (NTH) will explore testing in newer areas like EV battery, drone and organic food. Mr Joshi said this while addressing the celebration of 114 years of the National Test House in quality assurance and testing in New Delhi. Reaffirming NTH’s role in the development of the nation, the Minister said that NTH will continue to modernize, engage globally, and explore new frontiers such as hydrogen energy, smart materials, advanced electronics, digital testing, and AI-driven certification. Mr Joshi also noted a sixty per cent increase in sample testing, with more than 45 thousand samples tested in 2024-25. The Minister also highlighted on PM Modi’s role of Zero Defect, Zero Effect to imply no compromise on quality, packaging and no negative effect on the country. On the occasion, the Minister inaugurated an EV testing facility in Kolkata, a Drone testing facility in Ghaziabad, and a Chemical testing laboratory in Ghaziabad. In the presence of the Union Minister, NTH also signed several Memorandums of Understanding with organizations like National Institute of Solar Energy, National Institute of Wind Energy, and Power Finance Corporation to increase its testing capability and promoting sustainable practices.
