According to media sources, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, today said that India wants to be a part of the developed world. He added that India wants to work with friendly countries and engage actively with nations with whom we share aligned interests, where India can truly create partnerships that are enduring, sustainable, and a win-win for both sides. He said this while addressing the FICCI LEADS 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Speaking at the event, Mr Goyal added that India has signed trade agreements with a number of countries including Australia, the UK, Chile and Peru. He further added that the trade negotiations with the European Union is also on fast track and will be concluded soon. Mr. Goyal said, these countries have committed to invest over 100 billion US dollar in the next 15 years in sectors like manufacturing, innovation and services. The Minister also stated that the trade agreement with Oman is in progress and is likely to be concluded in the next few weeks.
Highlighting India’s aspirations, Mr. Goyal said the nation seeks to be part of the developed world by working closely with friendly countries and building sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships. He underlined that the nation is among the fastest-growing large economies and will continue on this trajectory in the coming decades, driven by its young and aspirational population. The Minister identified three key pillars of the nation growth story, the ability to turn crises into opportunities, an inclusive approach to economic development, and an action oriented government.
