According to Media Sources, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) to strengthen technical expertise in tunnel engineering, slope stability analysis and highway safety for National Highway infrastructure projects in India. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, in a statement, said that this collaboration reflects NHAI’s commitment to develop and maintain India’s National Highways to global standards by leveraging NGI’s internationally recognised expertise in geotechnical engineering and natural hazard mitigation. Under the MoU, both organizations will collaborate on research and development initiatives related to the reduction of natural hazards.
As Per Media Sources, The Ministry said that the MoU will remain valid for a period of five years. The partnership reflects the growing cooperation between India and Norway in the field of infrastructure development, technology exchange, and sustainable engineering practices, further deepening bilateral ties and promoting long-term institutional collaboration.
