Indian Oil is proud of its Territorial Army unit for providing unstinted support to the Indian Army during the recent unrest at Manipur. The team took control of Imphal AFS, Malom Bulk Oil Depot & Sekmai LPG Bottling Plant & resiliently defended the energy infrastructure.
Spear Corps, Indian Army twitted “As a direct fallout of security situation in Manipur, oil installations were non operational & led to tasking of Territorial Army to either take control or render assistance. A Batallion was mobilised; reached Imphal within 48 hours & Malom Bulk Oil Depot made operational within 12 hrs. 400-450 tank trucks despatched. Sekmai LPG Bottling Plant was made operational too & 8000-10000 cylinders are being despatched daily in Manipur. Lt Gen HS Sahi GOC Spear Corps visited & commended 414 ASC Battalion (Territorial Army) for rendering yeoman service which averted a crisis & exhorted everyone to continue discharging their duties with same zeal & enthusiasm in ensuring Energy Security for Manipur Rescue.”
