Airport Authority of India (AAI) initiated ‘Sustainable Green Airports Mission’ (SUGAM). It focuses on fulfilling the airport’s entire power consumption from 100% Renewable Energy. Also, under this initiative, solar power plants are being installed at all airports to promote the use of Green Energy.
In a tweet, Airport Authority of India (AAI) said, “AAI’s Varanasi Airport has switched to 100% Green Power Tariff for fulfilling the airport’s day-to-day energy requirements which accommodate 80.37 lakh units per year. At the airport, an 1800 kWp Solar Plant has been installed which generates 24 Lakh Units of electricity.”
