Google has recently rolled out a new feature in Google Docs that automatically displays line numbers in documents set to paged mode. The tech giant announced this update in a recent blog post, alongside other formatting control enhancements and content organisation improvements.
The numbering options are flexible, allowing users to apply line numbers to the entire document, specific pages, or designated sections, providing ease of use for both digital and print contexts.
In Docs that are set to paged mode, Google has included a new function that automatically shows line numbers. We’re adding the option to display line numbers within Docs that are set to paged mode, in addition to previous updates that give you more control over formatting in Google Docs, such as viewing non-printing characters.
The line numbers are automatically generated for each line in the document, and you can choose to apply them for the entire document, a single page, or a specific section as per your preference.
