Delhi: According to the media sources, Ambassador of Lithuania to India, Diana Mickeviciene speaks in Hindi, she says “Main keh sakti hoon ki yeh dictionary hamari dosti ka nishaan hai. Our objective is to publish a bigger dictionary with the help of scholars from Lithuania and India.”
Ambassador of Lithuania to India Diana Mickeviciene also said “Lithuanian language is officially recognized to be the closest living sister language of Sanskrit. So it is a bridge between the two people…The Lithuanian embassy organised a series of lectures by the Sanskrit scholar from Lithuania, Vytis Vidūnas to speak about this linguistic connection, to present the most interesting examples of similarities, which are striking not just in vocabulary, but also in grammatical structure, which means that there is a very deep connection between the two languages. The first idea is to increase awareness about this, but the second motive is to call out for more cooperation, to research this connection more, because it’s been under-researched and I think it will be very interesting to both Indian and Lithuanian Scholars…”
