According to media source, Two earthquakes jolted Afghanistan on Wednesday in a span of less than 30 minutes. The first earthquake had a magnitude of 4.4 and occurred at 12:28 am 100 km east of Fayzabad, according to the National Center for Seismology.The second quake, with a magnitude of 4.8, struck at 12:55 am, 126 km east of Fayzabad.
As per media reports, On December 12, 2023, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit Afghanistan.Before that, in October last year, a powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake followed by strong aftershocks killed dozens of people in western Afghanistan, the country’s national disaster authority said.Around 2,000 people died in one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike the country in two decades.
