AFWWA sets Guinness World Record by making over 41K knitted woolen caps in 3 Months

Air Force Wives Welfare Association, AFWWA has made the Guinness world record by making over 41 thousand knitted woolen caps in mere three months. Over three thousand female AFWWA members knit these caps under a special drive called ‘Knittathon’ that commenced on 15th July this year.

The award was announced by the adjudicator, Guinness World Record on the occasion of 62nd-anniversary celebration of AFWWA at Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park in New Delhi on 15th October, Saturday. AFWWA President Neeta Chaudhari received the award. Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also attended the event as the Guest of Honour.

Our Correspondent reports that these knitted caps will be donated to the homeless and poor of the country to provide them comfort during the coming winter months.
