According to media sources, On the eve of World Radio Day today, Akashvani organised the Rag Radio Rang Radio programme at Pandit Ravi Shankar Studio in New Delhi. During the programme, a panel discussion was held, featuring renowned classical singer Sita Vasantha Lakshmi, actor Yogendra Tikku, radio jockey Ritu Roy, scriptwriter Dr. Subhash Chandra, and former Additional Director General of Akashvani Yogendra Pal.
The panellists shared glimpses of their journeys with Akashvani and emphasised the importance of the correct usage of dialect and language in radio. They also highlighted the need for digital radio to support sustainable development.
Director General of Akashvani Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur welcomed the guests, stating that they have carried forward the heritage of radio through their art.
Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, scriptwriter Dr. Subhash Chandra and actor Yogendra Tikku emphasised that radio is the best medium for learning along with entertainment.
