The EV Mitra mobile app was created by the Bengaluru Electricity Company BESCOM to provide Information about EV charging stations in Bengaluru. The app also includes details about the charges at each station where electric vehicles can recharge. Users of electric vehicles can book a spot in the station in advance using the user-friendly app. BESCOM had earlier introduced the EV Jagruthi Web portal as a joint initiative of NITI Aayog and the United Kingdom. The web portal gives information particular to each state about the availability of electric vehicles, incentives, support mechanisms, and state government initiatives related to electric mobility.
In Bengaluru, BESCOM has started 136 charging stations and another 152 such stations will be started soon. Under the Public Private Partnership model, tenders have been invited to establish 1000 charging stations across the state. EV Abhiyan will be held for a week from July 1st to 6th and EV Expo from July 1st to 3rd. To prmote EV usage in Bengaluru, a rally will be held on July 2nd from Vidhana Soudha to Palace Grounds.
