New Delhi: Mr. Bijaya Kumar Das, DGM, BHEL, has completed the grueling ‘Ironman’ long-distance triathlon race, held in Astana, Kazakhstan. An ‘Ironman’ race comprises a 3.8 Km swim, a 180.2 km bicycle ride and a 42.2 km marathon in that order. It is one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.
Mr. Das, 48, successfully completed the race in 13 Hrs 52 minutes & 8 Seconds, finishing well within the official total cut-off time of 16 hrs 30 mins.
