According to media sources, Due to the active Southwest Monsoon, most parts of Bihar have recorded good rainfall. In the past 24 hours, several areas in East Champaran, West Champaran, Madhubani, and Purnia districts have received heavy rainfall. Some places have recorded between 160 to 170 millimetres of rain. The Meteorological Department has also issued a heavy rainfall alert today for Rohtas, Saran, Siwan, Supaul, Araria, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, East Champaran, and West Champaran districts.

Continuous rainfall has disrupted normal life in several cities, including Patna. Many parts of Patna are experiencing waterlogging. Meanwhile, rivers like the Ganga, Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati, and Mahananda are all in spate. In Patna, the water level of the Ganga River has crossed the danger mark at Digha Ghat, Hathidah, and Gandhi Ghat. As a result, the riverine and low-lying areas near the banks of the Ganga are affected by flooding. In view of the flood situation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed administrative officials to remain alert. NDRF and SDRF teams have also been deployed and alerted at various locations.
