According to media sources, In Bihar, residents of Govindpur village in Patna district have expressed their happiness as Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 is moved today in parliament.
Earlier, the Sunni Waqf Board had declared the entire land, including the residential area of Govindpur village under the Fatuha block as an asset of the Board.
Residents have challenged it in the Patna High Court as an arbitrary decision of the Board. They said the District Magistrate of Patna has found the documents of villagers valid and the claim of the board false.
Several villagers said that they expect justice will be meted out to them as the Bill talks about greater transparency, reforms and curbing the arbitrariness.
