Bullet Train Project: Physical Progress reaches 21.3%

New Delhi: Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) or bullet train project has reached its physical progress of 21.3%. The Completed Works in Gujarat were 176.4 km Pile Work, 88.56 km Pier Work, and 4.64 km Girders.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR, an under-construction high-speed rail line connecting India’s economic hub Mumbai with the city of Ahmedabad has yet to work on a good foundation of bridges on major rivers, also 8 Stations between Vapi-Sabarmati are under various construction stages.

The NHSRCL estimated that the corridor would consume around 110 crore units of electricity annually once operational. Consumption was expected to rise in 2033. In June 2022 around 90.3% of the total required land (98.78% of the land required in Gujarat, and 71.49% in Maharashtra) has been acquired.

The first train is expected to run, on a 50 km (31 mi) section, between Surat and Bilimora, in 2026.
