According to media sources, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath honoured Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla in Lucknow today. The felicitation program was organised by the Department of Science and Technology of UP to celebrate Shubhanshu’s arrival in his hometown after successfully completing the space mission Axiom 4.
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said that a scholarship will be launched in Shubhanshu’s name for students pursuing careers in science and technology to honour his historic achievement. The Chief Minister said that today space science is not just confined to space exploration but it can also be helpful in improving ease of living and overcoming natural challenges and calamities.
On this occasion, Shubhanshu Shukla said that in the time to come, people will talk about ISRO and not NASA. He stated that the momentum that has been created after his space mission will greatly help in advancing the nation’s space journey. He said that this is a golden period for space exploration for our country.
