According to the media sources, Two ladies Foreign Nationals, travelling from Nairobi to Mumbai were intercepted by two Customs officers of CSMI Airport, Mumbai and were found carrying 22KT Gold Melted Bars–28 Pieces and 22KT Gold Melted Bars– 70 Pieces having a total net weight of 32.79 kg concealed in undergarments and baggage of the passengers. Seized 32.79 Kg Gold valued at Rs.19.15 Cr across 2 cases. Gold was found concealed in the undergarments and baggage of the passengers. Both the pax were arrested.
As per the reports, Based on profiling, Customs at IGI Airport in Delhi have seized 998 grams of foreign origin gold valued at Rs. 67 lakhs from two passengers who arrived from Moscow. Both passengers were arrested under the Customs Act 1962. Total net weight of all the gold and silver is 1.030.79 kg.
