According to media sources, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is on a two-day visit to Kutch from today. The Minister will attend a cultural programme at the Military Station in Bhuj. Tomorrow, on the occasion of Dussehra, the Defence Minister will witness a multi-agency security exercise at the Lakkinala Military Garrison on the Kutch border and perform Shastra Poojan. He will also inaugurate several new facilities for jawans and interact with soldiers. Army Chief General Upendra Trivedi, along with senior officers from Army Headquarters, Southern Command, the Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and BSF, will also be present. Our correspondent reports that this is Mr Singh’s second visit to Kutch in five months. He had earlier visited Bhuj in May after Operation Sindoor to boost the morale of soldiers.
