According to media source,Delhi Police have dismantled an interstate gang responsible for stealing Remote Radio Units (RRUs) from mobile towers across Delhi and other states. Six gang members have been apprehended, and 130 stolen RRUs, valued at approximately Rs 4 crore, have been recovered.The police have successfully solved 47 theft cases spanning Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, and West Bengal. RRUs, also known as Remote Radio Heads, are vital components of wireless base stations, converting digital signals into radio frequency signals for wireless transmission.
As per media reports, A senior Delhi Police official revealed that a secret informer tipped them off about the gang’s activities. The police used data analysis, technical expertise, and artificial intelligence to track the gang. A trap was set near Pandav Nagar, leading to the arrest of three individuals: Adil (25), Sadiq (21), and Adnan (22), all from Meerut, UP. One of the suspects was found with a stolen RRU linked to a case in Karawal Nagar, Northeast Delhi. During questioning, the suspects admitted to stealing RRUs from various states. The police recovered 126 RRUs from a warehouse in Pandav Nagar, with 43 confirmed stolen from different jurisdictions.
