According to media sources, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today said that education will play a pivotal role for India to become a developed nation. Addressing the 20th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2025 in New Delhi today, Mr Gadkari emphasized on the role of education and innovation in India’s journey toward a 5 trillion dollar economy and achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Mr. Gadkari underlined that India has the largest number of young, talented, trained and skilled engineering manpower in the world.
He said that the government’s focus on combining knowledge with skill development and technological advancement is essential for making India self-reliant. The Minister urged universities to align research with national needs and promote innovation that supports employment generation and sustainable economic growth. The summit underscored the importance of digitalization and futuristic research in higher education, aiming to create future-ready campuses that can support India’s aspirations for a self-reliant, technologically advanced, and economically strong nation.
On the occasion, the Minister inaugurated the FICCI-EY report, which aims to integrate digitalization and Artificial intelligence into educational institutions, creating campuses that are ready for the future. The report also highlighted how AI is reshaping learning, teaching, research, and institutional effectiveness.
