According to media source,Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu was on Saturday arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in connection with a corruption case.
According to the reports, Chandrababu Naidu was shifted to Nandyal Hospital for a medical examination, following which he will be produced before the court.
As per media reports, An arrest warrant to Chandrababu Naidu was served under Section 50 (1) (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the wee hours of Saturday, as the former chief minister was resting in his vanity van following a public address in Andra Pradesh’s Nandyala city.
Naidu agreed to cooperate with the police and would be taken in his convoy while his security would be allowed to accompany him.Recently, Chandrababu Naidu had claimed that he would be arrested very soon.
Addressing a media conference in Tadepalli, he said, “Chandrababu spent Rs 10 crore for effecting repairs to Lake View Guest House in Hyderabad before he fled from there in the cash for vote case. He spent another Rs.10 crore on the Chief Minister’s office, Rs 100 crore for chartered flights and Rs 80 crore on Dharma Porata Deekshas.”
