Official Twitter Account of the Income Tax Department, GoI, twitted “Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, Smt @nsitharaman ji hands out promotion letters to athletes Shri Abhishek Verma and Ms. @saweetyboora, both serving as Income Tax officials in New Delhi, who have been given ‘out of turn’ promotion following their spectacular performances in their respective sports at the international level and bringing laurels to the nation. Also present were Secretary, Revenue and Chairman, CBDT. Shri Abhishek Verma was one of the members of Indian Compound Mixed Team which won Silver Medal in Mixed Team Compound Competition at the World Archery Championships 2021 held in USA. He has been promoted to the grade of ACIT (Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax). Ms. @saweetyboora, who won Gold Medal in the 81 kg category at Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023 held in New Delhi, has been promoted to the grade of Income Tax Officer (ITO).”
