New Delhi: An Initiative was launched at an event of “India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Start Up Conclave “ by Hardeep Singh Puri (Union Minister, Ministry of Urban Administration and Development) under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT – 2.0). The event was held at Steil auditorium, India habitat centre, New Delhi on 12th March 2022. It was launched with the lightening of lamp by Hardip S Puri; Union Minister MoHUA. In this conclave, welcome speech was delivered by Smt D. Thara; Mission Director & Add. Secretary in presence of Shri Manoj joshi; Secretary, MoHUA.
During the speech, Mr. Puri also added that his ministry will select start-ups through this Start-up challenge and provide twenty lakh rupees to each start-up as funding support as well as mentorship. Puri said that AMRUT 2.0 is a transformative and unique scheme, with a huge outlay of over Rs 2.77 lakh crore. He said that the scheme will ensure water security in the country, reduce its transportation costs, reduce groundwater contamination, and increase water utilisation capacity.
Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, MoHUA, said that awareness in water management is important to make a healthy society. He said that there are enormous issues related to urban water management in our country and everyone needs a better technology to address them. Start-ups have to come up with innovative technologies which will help better management of urban water, he added.
The Additional Secretary and Mission Director, AMRUT, MoHUA, Smt. D. Thara, officials from various State Governments and other senior officials from MoHUA participated in the Conclave. Several Start-ups from various parts of the country engaged in water gave their presentations with innovative ideas and cutting edge technologies.
From Madhya Pradesh, officials from the Directorate, Urban Administration & Development (UADD) Mr. Ravi Chaturvedi (EE), Mr. Saurabh Dwivedi (Sub Er), Mr. Kartikey Tiwari (Design Estimation Engineer), Samarpit Singh & Aishwarya Tiwari (Engineer) participated in this conclave, in which Mr. Kartikey had a good interaction with the Mr. Joshi and the panel.
