Rajkot: Official Twitter account of Airport Authority of India (AAI) twitted “Witnessing the necessity of another Airport in the fourth-largest city of Gujarat, AAI is developing a New Greenfield Airport at Hirasar in Rajkot. This New Airport, built in 2534 acres land and at a cost of ₹1405 crore will cater to the population of more than 2 million.”
They also Twitted “The Airport Terminal is a futuristic engineering marvel and is GRIHA 4-star compliant. Hirasar Airport will have a 3040 mtr-long Runway and the apron here will have the capacity to park ten Code-C (AB321) type of aircraft and four Code-B type of aircraft. This Airport will serve as an important gateway connecting the western part of #Gujarat and #Rajkot to the rest of the country.”
