Gandhinagar: Today, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Leads ‘Sundays on Cycle’ Rally with PSUs Under Fit India Movement. On July 13, 2025, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Gandhinagar, hosted a spirited edition of the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative under the theme “Cycling Rally with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)”. The event is part of the Fit India Movement, a nationwide campaign launched in 2019 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inspire citizens to adopt healthier and more active lifestyles.

The rally was led by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Minister of Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, who emphasized the transformative potential of cycling, stating that, “‘Sundays on Cycle’ has evolved into a national movement advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of a Fit India. Cycling offers a clean, healthy, and sustainable solution to pollution, traffic congestion, and sedentary lifestyles. Over 7,000 locations across the country have witnessed enthusiastic participation, especially from the youth.”

The event started at 6:30 AM from Gate No. 5 of Mahatma Mandir, winding through the Swarnim Park circuit and covering a distance of approximately 4.5 kilometers before returning to the starting point.

Among the participants was Privandita Tiwari, a Class 2 student from Jamnabai Narsee School, GIFT City, Gandhinagar, whose enthusiastic participation earned praise from the Hon’ble Minister. Her involvement reflected the growing engagement of young citizens in building a healthier, more active India.
