The Kiwi star has a grade two lower tear, New Zealand Cricket confirmed.
According to Media Sources, New Zealand quick Matt Henry has been ruled out of the ODI World Cup due to the hamstring strain he picked up against South Africa with Kyle Jamieson confirmed as his replacement. Jamieson, who was a traveling reserve earlier in the tournament before returning home, had already been called up to join the New Zealand squad in India after their injury list grew during the game in Pune. He will come straight into contention for the game against Pakistan in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Today, Official account of New Zealand Cricket posted on social media platform ‘X’, “Matt Henry has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup with a torn right hamstring and has been replaced in the squad by Kyle Jamieson. An MRI scan confirmed he has a grade two lower tear which will require at least 2 to 4 weeks to recover from.”
