According to media sources, In Jharkhand, illegal materials and cash worth over three crore 15 lakh rupees have been seized from different parts of the state since the announcement of assembly elections. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar stated that authorities have been instructed to strictly enforce the Model Code of Conduct. According to the guidelines of the Commission, individuals are allowed to carry up to 50,000 rupees during the election period. If the amount exceeds 50,000 but is below 10 lakh rupees, the money will be seized, and a committee led by the District Commissioner will determine whether the funds were for legitimate purposes or other motives. Any cash above 10 lakh rupees will be handed over to the Income Tax Department for further investigation.
