According to media sources, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the Konkan region, Goa, Central Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh till Saturday.
The IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall today in coastal and interior Karnataka and Vidarbha. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim till tomorrow.
The weatherman said, a low pressure area has formed over West central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay off North Andhra and South Odisha coasts under the influence of cyclonic circulation.
