IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Odisha and North-East India

According to media sources, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at over Odisha and North-East India today. The IMD said that this is due to the depression over East central Bay of Bengal intensifying into a Cyclonic Storm. These conditions will also be present over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka and Kerala today. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall conditions will be prevalent over Gangetic West Bengal today and over Jharkhand tomorrow. The weather agency has predicted similar conditions over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during the next 2-3 days. No significant rainfall activity is expected over Central and North-west India during the week.
