According to media sources, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today expressed confidence that India will comfortably maintain a 6 to 8 per cent economic growth rate while keeping inflation under check in the coming years. Mr. Vaishnaw stated this during a session at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. He said inclusive growth remains a key pillar of India’s economic blueprint while focusing on manufacturing, services, and simplification of laws. He added that inclusive growth has been a key reason for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s returning to power for the third consecutive term. The Minister also highlighted that Mr. Modi ensured that the benefits of economic growth reached every section of society.
Later, the Minister also had meetings with various Industry leaders. He met Chair Asia-Pacific of Boston Consulting Group, Neeraj Aggarwal and discussed the development of Semiconductor talent at the Plaksha University in Mohali and wide-ranging discussion on AI, advanced manufacturing and semiconductor ecosystem. Mr. Vaishnav also had a meeting with Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens. In a social media post, he said the Siemens will broaden its production and service offerings in India.
He also held a discussion with Founder and Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab. The Minister informed that Klaus Schwab expressed great interest in India’s growth story and recognised New Delhi’s emergence as a trusted global partner under the leadership of Mr Modi.
