According to media sources, The Income Tax Department has collected over 13 lakh 57 thousand crore rupees as direct tax for the financial year 2024-25 so far. The collection includes personal income tax of over seven lakh crore rupees and corporate tax of over six lakh crore rupees. The department has also issued refunds of over two lakh 31 thousand crore rupees till yesterday. The net direct tax collection has recorded a significant growth of over 18 per cent amounting to over 11 lakh 25 thousand crore rupees.
