According to media sources, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, has said that India has achieved one of the fastest 5G rollouts globally and deployed more than 4 hundred 70 thousand Base Transceiver Stations- BTS across the country in just two years. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed the 5G revolution. Dr. Pemmasani highlighted these while addressing the BHARAT 6G 2025-3rd International Conference and Exhibition in New Delhi today.
In his address, Dr. Pemmasani said that India has expanded 5 G coverage to the country’s 80 per cent population, bringing high-speed internet to previously underserved rural communities through the Make in India initiative. He added that India has also developed domestic 4 G and 5 G equipment manufacturing capabilities and established the lowest 5 G data rates globally, while maintaining quality, service, democratising, and digital access for all citizens.
The Minister said that today India stands at a threshold technological revolution that will shape humanity’s future. He added that as India continues on its journey towards becoming a global technology leader, our path forward, Bharat 6G, will define India’s prosperity for decades to come.
