According to media sources, As the globe is observing World Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Day today, the country’s iconic India Gate has been illuminated in vibrant hues of purple and orange.
This symbolic act is part of a global movement to light up iconic landmarks across the world to raise awareness about Neglected Tropical Diseases. It also emphasizes the importance of collective action to combat these debilitating diseases.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to highlight India’s progress in the fight against NTDs, with a special focus on Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) and Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL).
