According to media sources, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri today said that Pakistan’s reputation as centre of global terrorism is rooted in various terrorist attacks across the globe. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Mr Misri said, any further action by Pakistan, some of which we are seeing today, is nothing but escalation by Pakistan once again, and will be responded to and is being responded to appropriately. He said, attack of Pahalgam terror attack is the original escalation to which India has responded. Mr Misri said, when talks were going on about the Pahalgam at the UN Security Council, Pakistan opposed the role of The Resistance Front (TRF) and it was done after TRF claimed the responsibility of the attack not once, but twice. Pointing that Osama Bin Laden was found in the country, he said, Pakistan has the reputation as the epicenter of global terrorism. He said, Pakistan is home to a large number of UN listed terror groups like Lashkae e Taiba, Jaish e Mohammed. Mr Misri said, in the last few days, the Defence minister and former foreign minister of the neighbouring country accepted their involvement with such terror groups. He also shown a picture of the state funerals given to terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor. The Foreign Secretary said, yesterday Pakistan launched a targeted attack on the Sikh community of Jammu and Kashmir hitting a gurdwara in Poonch and hitting the Sikh community members, who came under attack. On Indus Waters Treaty, Mr Misri said, Pakistan was deliberately creating roadblocks over the years.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said, Pakistan attempted to engage several military targets in northern and western India using drones and missiles. These locations included Avantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Nal, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adhampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Falaudi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj. They said, these attempts were neutralized by the integrated counter-unmanned aerial system and other air defense systems. Colonel Qureshi and Wing Commander Singh said, Pakistan has increased the intensity of its unprovoked firing across the Line of Control using Mortars and heavy calibre Artillery in areas in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar and Rajouri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. 16 innocent lives have been lost, including three women and five children, due to Pakistani firing. They said, India was compelled to respond to bring Mortar and Artillery fire from Pakistan to a halt. They said, Indian Armed Forces reiterate their commitment to non-escalation, provided it is respected by the Pakistani military.
